ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is a study of control and unpredictability through the disciplined structure of grids and the organic form of textured paint. Working primarily with acrylic paint and occasionally incorporating mixed media, I arrange circular shapes of color within precise grids. This layout reflects my perfectionism and a deep-seated need for order, while the textured surfaces of each circle represent the uncontrollable moments and stress that surface in daily life. Grounded in color theory, texture, and process, each piece follows a meticulous method, with colors selected in advance according to theoretical rules or thematic direction. Through repetition and variation, these works become a narrative on stability in the face of disorder.
